A:
Hello!

For the first one you use the equation for a right circular cone

The equation is[tex]A= \pi r(r+ \sqrt{h^{2} + r^{2} } [/tex]

A is area
r is radius which is half the diameter
h is height

Put in the values you know

[tex]A= \pi 7(7 + \sqrt{ 43^{2} + 7^{2} } [/tex]

Put this into a calculator and you get

1112.01

the answer is B

Question 2

Knowing that the lateral area is 555pi and the radius is 15.1 the height is 33.51

We can use the Pythagorean theorem to find the slant height

[tex]a^{2} + b^{2} = c^{2} [/tex]

c is the slant height
a is height
b is radius

Put in the values you know

[tex]33.51^{2} + 15.1^{2} = c^{2} [/tex]

Square the numbers

1122.9 + 228.01 = c^2

Add

1350.91 = c^2

Take the square root of the number

c = 36.8

The answer is A

Hope this helps!
