Q:

jason cycled for 3 hours. He cycled 7 1/2 miles each hour for the first 2 hours and the distance he cycled for the 3rd hour was 1/4 of the total distance he cycled in 3 hours. What was the total distance Jason cycled in 3 hours?

Accepted Solution

A:
7 1/2 * 2 = 15

The 3rd hour was 1/4 of the total distance in 3 hours.

1/4 = 0.25 as a decimal, and 25% as a percent.

15 (0.25) = 3.75
15 + 3.75 = 18.75

0.75 = 3/4 as a fraction.

So, he cycled 18 3/4 miles in 3 hours.

I hope this helps, and I am sorry if I get this question wrong. (which is in all likelihood)
